Walsh Waste
Drains, Tanks, & Pump Stations
Walsh Waste have a wealth of experience in the cleaning and decontamination of tanks and vessels
CCTV Drain Surveys
Walsh Waste’s detailed reports identify the exact location of problem areas. For certain waste removal or cleaning problems, there will be no apparent solution using conventional equipment or manpower. This calls for the use of CCTV.
Our CCTV Surveys can reveal all sorts of problems with drain runs from root ingress to major structural faults.
At Walsh Waste, we can install state-of-the-art colour CCTV equipment in the darkest, most inaccessible areas to investigate a problem with the least possible disruption to your business.
You will then receive colour video/DVD footage, high-resolution colour photographs and detailed computer-generated reports covering every aspect of the survey area.
We can then establish the root of the problem and provide the best solution for you and the environment.
Lagoon and Settlement Pond Cleaning
The use of a lagoon / settlement pond is common-practice to clarify surface or waste water in many industries. Due to the nature of the process, the lagoon becomes full of sediment to the extent that there is insufficient volume to clarify the water. As a result the quality of the discharging water suffers. Carrying out pond and lagoon clearances will remedy this.
Our skilled and experienced operatives regularly carry out pond and lagoon clearances in a variety of settings. By using a range of technology, we treat the sludge / water mixture from the pond or lagoon on site, removing the sludge and allowing the water to run back into the pond. The sludge can be removed from site and safely disposed of.
Oil Interceptor Cleaning
We will ensure that your interceptors are emptied when necessary, at regular intervals through planned maintenance programmes. Regular interceptor cleaning and timely action can prevent costly and unnecessary remedial action.
Grease Traps Cleaning
Walsh Waste can also ensure that your grease trap system operates efficiently, by means of a maintenance schedule, bringing the maximum benefit for your business, as well as ensuring that you are in compliance with EPA guidelines and Local Authority Management Programmes.
Each time a grease trap is serviced we carry out the following:
- Grease Trap fully emptied
- Power washing of grease trap
- Disposal of grease to an EPA licenced facility
- Photograph taken of each grease trap after emptying and cleaning
- Certificate of disposal
By using Walsh Waste for maintenance of your grease trap we will set up a suitable maintenance schedule that will completely eliminate the need for chemical / enzyme dosing systems. A large number of our customers have completely eliminated these expensive dosing systems and made substantial savings when they changed over to a regular maintenance schedule. We believe these enzyme dosing systems are of limited benefit and are literally money down the drain.
Tank & Pump Station Cleaning
Tank & Pump Cleaning – fuel stations, septic tanks and grease traps are not designed for man entry, which makes cleaning a highly specialised operation.
Walsh Waste have a wealth of experience in the cleaning and decontamination of tanks and vessels.Whatever a tank contains or has been used for in the past, we can supply the appropriate vehicle or high airflow unit to remove any contamination.
Where it is possible to clean a tank externally, we often use water jetting to remove the residue. Water is added to the tank and agitated, and at an appropriate pressure for the volume the contents are then pumped out for disposal.
We are also highly trained and equipped to place people inside a tank for cleaning. As with other instances of man-entry, we produce a full risk assessment and gain a confined space permit to work, as well as completing any tests for contaminants. A team can then be assigned, instructed by a qualified team leader.
We can also perform a tank inspection, which will identify the need for repair or renovation – just leave it to us to make it fully operational once more.
Drains cleaning
Walsh Waste have the specialist equipment and personnel to carry out the cleaning, decontamination and removal of both hazardous and non-hazardous contaminants in drains, sewers, interceptors and lagoons.
Before any cleaning, it is crucial to fully understand the job required. That’s why our teams will carry out a site survey, risk assessment, produce a method statement and analyse the waste to be removed. This ensures we have the equipment necessary to do the job in a way that is cost effective and environmentally friendly.
High performance vehicles and accessories from our specialist fleet can work at depths of up to 25 metres, via openings of just 100 millimetres, to remove large volumes of liquid waste quickly and efficiently.
Our water recycling units can operate as a conventional jetter unit together with the continuous recycling of water. This enables the unit to spend more time on the cleaning process before replenishing the jetting water.
