From July 1st 2010 certain types of premises such as Hotels, Restaurants, Grocery Shops, Hospitals, Schools and On-site Canteens who produce over 50 kg of food waste per week are legally obliged to place
food waste in a dedicated food receptacle for collection by an authorised
waste collector. The regulations also prohibit the use of in-sink macerators.
Also due to the heavy nature of food waste, sending it to landfill will no longer be a viable option as landfill taxes are set to increase to €75 per ton by 2012.
Walsh Waste can provide you with a simple and cost effective food waste collection service enabling you to improve your environmental performance and save you money.
We can supply you with convenient food bins which can be serviced on a scheduled or as required basis.
To ensure peace of mind Walsh Waste only use facilities that operate to the highest environmental and safety standards and are fully compliant with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Thus a full audit trail of your waste can be produced.
